Melamine in Halloween candy?

Post by Alison »

Think about this: We've heard for a few months the heartbreaking story of melamine tainted milk powder in China being made into baby formula. Now, is some of that tainted milk powder in our country, in candy that some little kids may be about to eat in very large quantities?

Here are some videos that draw attention to the question, and raise a disturbing concern that the FDA may not be responding to this properly due to their mistake with the tomatos last summer and the proximity to the election.

And, this website has text based statements, and lots of jumping off links to the FDA, the CDC, recall lists, etc:

Looks like a good year to go vegan for Halloween.

Thanks for this.

I would like to add that no person should consider the FDA a watchdog for our health. From antidepressants and suicide, to diet pills that kill, to Vioxx, and on and on, the FDA has shown itself to be more concerned with the profits of Big Pharma than with the citizens whose health it was designed to protect.

is a good place to start.
