The George Street Co-op is a non-profit natural foods store owned and run by its members. We sell vegetarian foods with the greatest nutritional value possible, and only minimal processing or additives. Everyone is welcome to shop at the Co-op and choose from our excellent selection of fresh organic produce, bulk foods, vitamins & herbs, body care and earth-friendly products, gifts, and more.

Board Game Tuesday at the Café!

Tuesday, July 2 at 7:00pm
All ages are welcome! Tuesdays from 7pm–10pm, come out and join everyone in a game of chess, checkers, backgammon, Scrabble, or Uno — or bring a different game with you to play! Join the Facebook group here.

The Organic Open Mic

Thursday, July 4 at 7:30pm
Music, poetry, spoken word open mic at the George Street Co-op Café every Thursday. Signups start at 7:30pm or by contacting the hosts in advance. Performances start at 8:00pm. There’s no cover.

New Chapter SLAA Meeting

Saturday, July 6 at 6:00pm
New Chapter SLAA Meeting 6pm–7pm every Saturday in the Co-op Café

Fair Trade comedy open mic

Sunday, July 7 at 7:30pm
Comedy open mic at the George Street Co-op Café, first and third (and usually fifth) Sundays of every month. Signups start at 7:30pm, performances start at 8:00pm. There’s no cover.

Spring 2024 Referendum Results

The results of the Spring 2024 Referendum are in.

The referendum ran from February 24th through March 9th, 2024. During those two weeks, 64 ballots were submitted (59 electronic plus 5 paper) meaning 56.6% of our eligible households took part!

The voters decided the referendum questions as follows:

New boycott policy

ZeroPrep zero-waste sustainable foods

The Co-op is now launching an even fresher and healthier source of sustainable food for our community! We’ve just added on-site fresh foods to our grab & go fridge. The ZeroPrep line is all:

Ready-made — grab, pay, eat!
$5 per pint — priced for students, affordable for everyone
Zero-waste — the packaging is reusable and there’s a $1 incentive for you to return it
